Terms of service

1. What Workspotted is
Workspotted ("we") is an information service. We find public contract notices and selected planning schemes, filter them for your trade and area, and add an automated verdict. We aren't connected to any council or public body, and we don't bid on your behalf.
Workspotted is for businesses, including sole traders. By signing up you confirm you're using it for your business, not as a private consumer.
2. Verdicts are opinion, not advice
Verdicts are written automatically by AI, using rules we set, from the text of each notice. They can be wrong or incomplete. They're there to help you decide what to read, not to tell you whether to bid. Always read the full notice and tender documents before you decide. We don't guarantee that any contract is suitable for you, or that you'll win work.
3. Completeness
We aim to include every relevant notice, but we depend on public sources that can be late, wrong or unavailable, and our filters won't be perfect. Drive times are estimates, not routes. Emails usually arrive around 7am, but can sometimes be late.
4. Plans, trials and payment
- Free: an email each Monday with the headlines of contracts and planning schemes near you, one to two weeks after they're published. No payment needed.
- Member: £25 a month. You get an email every weekday morning with every new contract near you and our verdict on each (on a weekend morning only if something new has come up), or a Monday round-up if you prefer, plus planning schemes and a page of everything open near you.
- Founding price: our first 100 members pay £19 a month instead of £25, for as long as their membership continues without a break. A free trial holds a founding place; if the trial ends without a card, the place goes back. Once all 100 are taken, new members pay £25, and we tell you before you sign up.
- Free trial: 30 days, with no card needed, and always free for the full 30 days. If you choose to keep your membership, you add a card at any point in the trial, and your first payment is taken the day after your trial ends, then monthly. If you don't, you move to the free plan when the trial ends. We never charge you unless you've added a card.
- Founding cohort (our first 25 firms): 90 days free. Before the 90 days end you can add a card to lock in £15 a month, for as long as your membership continues without a break. Your first payment is taken the day after your free period ends. If you don't lock in, you move to the free plan. When all 25 places are taken, new sign-ups get the normal 30-day trial at the £19 founding price instead, and we tell you which one you've got.
- Payments are taken monthly in advance by Stripe. We aren't registered for VAT, so no VAT is added to our prices.
- If a payment fails, Stripe tries again over the following days and you keep your access meanwhile. If it still fails, your membership ends and you move to the free plan. We'll tell you by email.
- We'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email of any price change. We won't raise a founding price while your membership continues without a break.
5. Cancelling
You can cancel any time from your settings page ("Manage billing"). You keep member features until the end of the month you've paid for, then move to the free plan. If you cancel after adding a card but before your first payment (during a trial or the founding cohort's free 90 days), you're never charged: you keep the rest of your free days and then move to the free plan. We don't refund part-months, except where the law says we must.
You can also delete your account from your settings page. That stops any payments straight away and erases your details. There's no refund for the rest of the month.
6. Your emails
Every email has a link to your settings and a one-click unsubscribe. You can pause emails for up to 90 days, or change your area, drive time, kinds of work and how often you hear from us. We count clicks on the links in our emails to see whether they're useful, and opens only if you agree; you can change either in your settings (see our privacy notice). We'll also send you the emails the service needs, such as sign-in links, trial reminders and payment notices.
7. Fair use
Your membership is for your business. Please don't resell, republish or share the emails or verdicts outside your firm, or scrape the service.
8. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law. Otherwise, we aren't liable for any loss of business, profit or opportunity, or for any decision you make about bidding. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
9. Ending the service
We may suspend an account that breaks these terms. If we ever close Workspotted, we'll give members at least 30 days' notice by email and stop all payments.
10. Changes and contact
We may update these terms, and we'll tell you by email before any change that affects you. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Questions: [email protected]. How we handle your data is in our privacy notice.
